Another gifted student, ten-year-old Claude McGinty is a mechanical genius who specializes in robots. Despite his rough, standoffish exterior Claude harbors a human side, and is trying to escape Hollow Fields for some unknown reason.

Claude is a male student at Hollow Fields. He formed an 'escape committee' with two other male students to try and escape the school, and Claude has last say in who gets to join.[2]
Appearance[]
He has dark brown hair and eyes and is missing a tooth. He wears the school uniform.
Personality[]
He is stern, prickly, and standoffish.[3] He doesn't like girls,[1] and he and two other male students have group that has a 'committee policy' of "no girls allowed" with the reasoning that girls will just "slow them down or cry when it gets tough."[2]

He has a sister named Meg, who was sent to detention. She is the leader of the windmill children.
